Feedback from Kathleen Brennan:

To many Americans, shortbread pretty much tastes the same.  I couldn't disagree more.  I have always purchased other Scottish brands. That is until I discovered Traditional Luxury Shortbread from Maclean's Highland Bakery.

I stumbled on this quite by accident, took it home and from the first bite I nearly swooned.  Your product is absolutely, bar none, the finest commercially baked shortbread cookie I have ever tasted.  Rich, buttery and flakey.

They really are wonderful.  Ummmm

Feedback from Gina Wilson, Melbourne, Australia:

G'day from Down Under, and best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year.  I bought a box of your Traditional Luxury Shortbread yesterday, to share with family members on NY Eve.

My mother in law is 97 and has lived in an aged care hostel since March 2009.  When she was at home she always celebrated NY Eve by having ham sandwiches and shortbread for supper.  Hubby and I decided to visit her last night (NY Eve) and take her some shortbread to share over a cup of tea.  She was delighted to see us, and we all voted your shortbread the nicest we'd ever tasted!

I have avoided shortbreads for years because I've always found them tasteless, but yours is delicious!  Many thanks.

The charity “Help for Heroes” was launched in October 2007 so that ordinary people could do something practical and positive to help injured servicemen and women returning from war torn countries like Afghanistan and Iraq.

Macleans Highland Bakery wanted to help this worthy cause so during the 2009 Benromach Forres Scottish Week, we took the opportunity to do some fundraising of our own. Members of staff took part in the ‘It’s a Knockout competition’, just one of many planned events that took place during the week and money was also raised from a stall on the night of the Toun Mercat (Town Market) selling the old Scottish favourite, stovies and oatcakes.

Altogether we managed to raise a total of £600 for our wounded heroes. Carol Shewan along with Adam Smith, Iain Nellis and Claire Maclean are delighted to be able to present the cheque to the Regional Coordinator for "Help for Heroes", Squadron Leader Ian Davis of RAF Lossiemouth.
